Credit Utilisation Calculator
Credit utilisation is the share of your available credit you are currently using, and lower reads better to a lender. The familiar 30% target comes from the US FICO model — neither CTOS nor CCRIS publishes one, so treat it as a rule of thumb, not a cliff edge.
Total balance: RM 0.00
How utilisation affects your score
- Below 10%: Excellent. Shows you have credit but don't rely on it.
- 10-30%: Good. Most scoring models treat this as healthy.
- 30-50%: Moderate. Starts to weigh against you. CTOS does not publish a points impact per utilisation band, so we give no figure.
- Above 50%: Risky. Major negative signal — can drop your score significantly.
- Above 80%: Severe. Banks may assume you're in financial distress.
Tip: Utilisation resets each billing cycle
Credit bureaus typically see your balance as reported on your statement date — not your real-time balance. If you pay down your balance before the statement date, your reported utilisation drops immediately.
This calculator shows estimated utilisation based on the figures you enter. Actual bureau-reported utilisation depends on your bank's statement date and reporting schedule.
